Northern lights surprise!

Cloudy evenings meant I didn’t get much of a chance to observe anything of the Geminid meteor showers over the weekend, but with one day left to catch a glimpse, and a clear and chilly evening, I ventured out to Gamla Uppsala last night more in hope than expectation. Not only did I get to see a few spectacular meteors, but I was also treated to my first ever sight of the Northern lights! It was pretty faint, and looks much more spectacular in a long exposure photograph, but it was still a cool experience and worth slightly shivering in -7 °C temperatures for an hour…
