Midsummer in Söderbärke

For the second year in a row I spent Midsummer close to Söderbärke in Dalarna, where there is a traditional celebration in the village itself. I can’t really claim to understand what’s going on in all the songs and dances, so I’m best off keeping to the sidelines and taking photos. I ended up with this one, originally with much more neutral processing, but ultimately came to this version through playing around with some of Trey Ratcliff’s Lightroom presets. I think it’s quite interesting anyway, it has more of a “weird cult” vibe to it (an opinion offered to me by a Swede, by the way!). Therefore this photo is entitled “Worship the rod”…
